In a media get-together in Davao last Friday, OPM Jukebox King April Boy Regino revealed his struggle with his health and how the President helped him to survive.
The cancer survivor admitted he wanted to lose hope in fighting for his life and even stop his passion for singing when he was again diagnosed with diabetes which caused him to lose his sight.
Despite the misery of the OPM Jukebox King, he was able to recover when he received an unexpected phone call from the President.
Ang ating presidenteng Duterte tinawagan po ako,’ he said.
As a result of the unexpected phone call from the President, Regino had his monthly allowances sponsored by Duterte as well as his medications.
