Inday Sara Duterte on Mariel de Leon's loss in Miss International 2017: "This is a schadenfreude moment for me."

Philippine bet Mariel de Leon ended her journey in the Miss International 2017 pageant in Tokyo, Japan on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio took her Facebook account and commented on the the issue.

On her post, Sara shared a photo of De Leon with a caption of "Congratulations, Mariel de Leon. You are this year’s Ms International 1st Runner Out."

Sara said that she has a personal experience to De Leon but she was too tired to share it.

"Meron ako personal experience sa kanya, but I’m too tired to make kwento," she said.

According to her, she "believes that the judges can see through the physical beauty and examine the heart."

De Leon was a known critic of President Rodrigo Duterte and even became very vocal on commenting about the administrations campaign against illegal drugs.

“It’s hard to wrap my mind around the fact that people are okay with murder because their leader says it is okay.”

"I hope that change will come. And I hope that I can use my voice and my platform to be part of that change.”

She even criticized Mocha Uson's appointment as a assistant secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office.

“Biased and disrespectful. She insults those who are against her. I’m not for her, I’m not for the other side (whatever that may be),” she tweeted.

"I love my country so it breaks my heart to know someone like her got a position in the gov’t. There are so many [other] unbiased, educated, and respected (and respectful) people who deserve her place,” she added.

It took De Leon two tries in Binibining Pilipinas before getting the opportunity to represent the Philippines in Miss International.
