International lawyer calls out Gascon and Hontiveros for bias and incompetence

International lawyer and sister of the late Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago, pointed out contradictions and inconsistencies in the actions of Senator Risa Hontiveros, and CHR (Commission on Human Right) Commissioner Chito Gascon.

Through a Facebook post, Atty. Paula Defensor-Knack pointed out various inconsistencies that challenged the credibility of Sen. Hontiveros and Commissioner Gascon.

Knack shared Sass Sasot’s post reacting to the news about Amnesty International urging U.S President Donald Trump to bring human rights in the agenda of the ASEAN summit.

Knack went on to note that Gascon and Hontiveros were both former Board Members of the Amnesty International, an international organization that criticized the war on drugs policy of President Rodrigo Duterte.

She also pointed out how Amnesty International was silent about the human rights violations of the United States of America, implying that the contradiction lied within the inability of Amnesty International to call out the alleged human rights violations of USA in with Guantanamo Bay, while at the same time criticizing the alleged human rights violations of the war on drugs policy of the Philippines.

It would seem that double standards of Amnesty International is happening to the CHR. She even implied that CHR functioned as an extension of Amnesty International.

Sen. Hontiveros’ credibility was also challenged by Knack. Pointing out that despite her being a member of the peace panel and a her being a nominee of the Nobel Peace prize, she was still accused of not being able to define rebellion and invasion and she allegedly receive funding from Kenneth Dong, a suspected drug lord.

Eh yung sinabi lang ni Trump na ipadala ang terror suspect sa Guantanamo.... bakit tahimik sila ? Alam nyo na kung anong nangyayari sa Guantano noh..........yon ba hindi violation of human rights sa definition nilang mga leftists?

While Hontiveros is an officer of many human rights groups, she cant even define rebellion or invasion, yet she was a member of the NDF Peace Panel and got a nomination for the Nobel Prize but DID NOT WIN. She also admitted receiving donations from drug lord Kenneth Dong and was even ninang in the wedding of a family member.

Come to think of it, lumabas lang ito noong independent foreign policy na ang bansa. Whose idea was ASEAN anyway ? And how come when the U.S. wants to put down another country, Amnesty International is busy issuing press releases on that country ha ? Remember Amnesty Intl. and Marcos."
