Manny Piñol: “I am a servant of the people.”
“You have been neglected for a long time, and we will not allow that to happen anymore. Change has come,” says Department of Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol during the 11th National Shrimp Congress.
The 11th Shrimp Congress that was held in Bacolod City on November 16, 2017 and was themed “Sustainable Shrimp Industry: United Direction Towards Productivity and Growth”.
Piñol and key officers of the DA regional field unit in Region 6 and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources National Director of the Undersecretary Eduardo Gongona visited the said Congress with hopes of creating a plan for the benefit of all sub-sectors of the Philippine fisheries.

“I am here to give the Filipino farmers and fishers what they need, and make sure that they realize that the Duterte administration cares for them,” Piñol said.
“I will await for the outcome of this congress and lead a Technical Working Group that will establish a set of guidelines that will direct you towards a progressive and competitive sector,” he added.
Piñol says that he is working for the people and that he apologizes on behalf of his predecessors for the delaying the right services that the people need.
“I am tasked to deliver to all of you what was supposed to be given to you for a very long time, and I am sorry that it has taken this long,” he then apologized.
The high time for the Filipino people to receive the right service is here, for all funds of a government agency is solely used for the implementation of effective projects and program, this is something that the government agencies under the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte are required to do.
The DOA continues to allot funds for agricultural assistance and interventions.
“This money belong to the people, we are only here to facilitate where will they be used and utilized,” said Piñol.
Change really is coming for Piñol as with full positivity, he embraces the fact that this Congress will lead to creating and providing more livelihood opportunities for the Filipinos in both international and local markets.
