Roque says Duterte still has the final call whether to fire him this early
“It’s a matter that he [RJ Nieto] should address to the President because the President appointed me,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said as a reply to RJ Nieto’s call for his resignation.

Nieto who owns the Facebook Blog Page “Thinking Pinoy” demands that Roque should resign due to his statements in which the Spokesperson plans to explain to Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson and rabid Duterte supporters the role of critical media in exposing the anomalies of the past administration.
Nieto went as far as stating that the appointing Roque was a mistake after defending the mainstream media.
Roque on the other hand, manned up and said, “I stated what I think is right, and I stated what I think is true.”
Nieto then took Roque’s “suggestion” up a notch and on his radio program said that Roque should include the members of the Malacañang Press Corps with his hollow block throwing extravaganza.
Roque clarified that Nieto’s suggestion should not be taken literally and the same goes for the Diehard Duterte Supporters, that they should not take his gesture of throwing hollow blocks literally as well.
“The figurative statement in question was made in jest and must not be taken seriously. Let us not make a mountain out of a molehill,” Roque said.
“What I will do is I will facilitate receipt of this information by the President. I will tell the President that Mr. Nieto has said that I should be removed. I will relay that to the President,” Roque added.
