Duterte comforts the families of the victims of Davao mall fire

Facebook netizen, Rudolph Ian Alama, shared a photograph of President Rodrigo Duterte comforting a family member of one of the victims of the fire in NCCC mall, that killed 37 people.

In the post, Alama gave much appreciation and love towards the president who gave his utmost support and comfort towards the families of the victims.

Alama says that the president stayed with the victims’ families for about 7 to 9 hours, amidst his busy schedule.

Alama also took high not of this, comparing the president to other politicians who usually only stay for a few minutes.

President Duterte, however, stayed until dawn caring for the families. Going about each family, and standing up for more hours in order to give support, as well as to gather as much information as he can from the commanders.

It was also said in the post that the president sometimes gave the sad news himself, hoping to ease the pain.

The fire broke out late last week wherein at least 37 people, most of which were employees from the American call center firm SSI.

The fire started around 9:30 am on Saturday. This, in addition to Davao being recently ravaged by typhoon Vinta as well.

If a person matters to you he will give you his time. PRRD stayed for about 7 or 9 hours with families and kin of the missing SSI employees. Usual politicians come and go staying for a few minutes but this man stayed up with anxious kin up until the wee hours of the morning. Even standing (without seating) for more than an hour trying to get updates from ground commanders then comforting them when he delivered the sad news. that is our "berdugo" our "fascist dictator" in action.
