Duterte upholds democracy, warns not to cause trouble
President Rodrigo Duterte permits the masses to stage a protest against him and even to burn effigies of him should it be to their favor, but he warns the prospective protesters not to utilize Rebels or weapons during the rally.
Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Assistant Secretary Lorraine Badoy emphasized how clearly Duterte upholds democracy by allowing, and even encouraging, his dissenters to hold a rally against him.
The President went as far as declaring the protest day a holiday and all public spaces would be made available for the protesters. Badoy, however, warned the communist nuns and priests not to intervene by bringing in children to the rally.
Duterte lives up to his role as a problem-solver of the nation and vows not to be affected by the protest. However, Duterte will summon the military and police should there be violence.
In Badoy full post on retired General Abe Purugganan’s Facebook, she said,
"For the communists:
DON'T BE FOOLISH.
The AFP and PNP are ready for you.
...The President on the upcoming rally against him:
"At this early, I am announcing that I am ordering a holiday para walang masaktan, walang ano, kung may demonstration diyan magkagulo.
Make an effigy yung kamukha ko maski isang libo.
It will not affect me because I'm not up for any other election. Tapos na ako. I do not have to make myself popular pero do not take the law into your own hands.
Wag kayong magkamali na magsira diyan, sira dito because if you do it, the next thing ang kaharap ninyo would be the mlitary and police."
Klaro.
Demokrasya. Buhay na buhay."
