Former intelligence officials say Trump is being manipulated by Putin
United States President Donald Trump has been a center of controversy of the US, but sensitive issue regarding his victory in the 2016 elections and the Russia’s involvement in the elections and the Russian President Vladimir Putin’s manipulation of Trump has put some of the intelligence officials of the US on the edge.
Former CIA Director John Brennan and former National Intelligence Director James Clapper are the prime example of intelligence officials that are currently on the edge. After Trump had spoken to Putin about the allegations of Russia’s involvement in the presidential election, yet again does Putin denies any participation in the said elections, what so ever.
Trump then told reporters that, "I really believe that, when he tells me that, he means it."

But both Brennan and Clapper said that the ties with Moscow are being mismanaged by Trump despite having a special council that investigates the possible involvement of Russia in Trump’s campaign.
"I think he is very insulted by it, which is not a good thing for our country." Said Trump.
A "badge of honor" is what Brennan called Trump’s criticism and Clapper said that Trump's denial of Russian interference in the election "poses a peril to the country."
In CNN’s State of the Union, Brennan and Clapper made an appearance where the former CIA Director stated that "I think Mr. Trump is, for whatever reason, either intimidated by Mr. Putin, afraid of what he could do, or what might come out as a result of these investigations... It's either naiveté, ignorance or fear in terms of what Mr. Trump is doing vis-à-vis the Russians."
The former National Intelligence Director on the other hand, stated that "I do think both the Chinese and the Russians think they can play him.” Inferring that from his previous statement that the foreign leaders are able to manipulate Trump.
Trump retaliated by questioning the evidence, if there were any, that solidifies the link between Russia and the favorable tilt of elections in his name.
Brennan declined verifying whether he has intelligence on information that compromises or damages Trump. But a former British spy wrote down a dossier of unverified claims that Russia does have damaging information on Trump.
