Noynoy Aquino, Joma on revolutionary gov’t

If your destabilization is becoming worse and chaotic, I will not hesitate to declare a revolutionary government,” Duterte said on a taped interview that was aired by PTV 4, a government television channel.

President Rodrigo Duterte plans on declaring a revolutionary government to overcome the destabilizing forces of his administration.

I will arrest all of you and we can go to a full-scale war against the Reds,” he added.

Duterte described that his revolutionary government would be comparable to former President Cory  Aquino’s revolutionary government back then, after the downfall of the late dictator Marcos in 1986.

Former President Benigno Aquino III, and Jose Ma. Sison founder of the Communist Party of the Philippines commented on the threat.

Aquino had just finished posting a Php. 40,000 bail due to the case of the 2015 Mamasapano debacle at his Times Street home when he stated in a press conference that “Shall we say that we keep our ears open and our eyes also. We are very closely watching a lot of things.”

Sison, on the other hand, said in a Facebook interview, that a revolutionary government would be great only if it meant that the people would have power.

It “was OK if its decree-making powers will not be used to push for a fascist dictatorship,” said Sison.

But for the Opposition legislator Rep. Tom Villarin of the partylist group Akbayan, the revolutionary government would be like Duterte overthrowing himself and reinstalling himself in power for the president has the loyalties of his people.

The unwavering communist founder then stated that he’d support the revolutionary government of Duterte only if it meant that the rebel forces would be running the government amok.

As for Aquino, who has had no personal knowledge on the issue, choose to abstain on further commenting.

Sison stated, while referring to the underground youth organization, that “In this framework, the three veterans of the Kabataang Makabayan — Duterte, Nur Misuari and me — could come together.

And loyalty of his people would be the last thing that Duterte should worry for he will be supported by his people given that the revolutionary government was pro-people, Sison also pointed out.

However, The President seemed to backtrack his threat after commenting on Vice President Leni Robredo’s statement that the military’s non-involvement with the revolutionary Government.

“OK, then we will not have a revolutionary government,” Duterte stated.

But despite Duterte backtracking his statement, Duterte’s supporters are not giving up without a fight. They’ve set a rallies to press for a revolutionary government that would be federal in character on Nov 30 in Davao City, Cebu City, North Cotabato and Manila.
