Aquino did not inherit the MRT problem - Jay Sonza
Former Manila Broadcasting Company - DZRH employee claims that the MRT problem was not present during the Erap and Gloria administration, and it was only during the Aquino administration that the problem arose.
Jay Sonza expressed that in the years 1999 to 2002, he took the MRT from the north station in Quezon City to the Ayala station in Makati City, and it was during those times that the trains still ran efficiently and was not as crowded as they are these days.

He mentions how numerous graft and corruption instances have rendered the train ineffective and faulty in the past years. He also mentioned illegal actions were still pushed through by the Aquino administration which lead to further troubles.
Sonza also discusses how he agrees with Senator Grace Poe in saying that the move of Ombudsman Carpio-Morales in filing a case against the Sandiganbayan, excluding Abaya, Roxas, et. al, is a wrong and curious move.

Also, the Aquino administration buying of 20 new trains for the MRT3, but its dimensions not fitting the rails raised eyebrows and highlighted the errors in the administration, says Sonza.

"The metro rail case Part 2, Amending the charges filed. - I used to take MRT from the north station in Quezion City to the ayala station in Makati City and back for almost three years 1999-2002. Panahon ni Erap and Gloria.

This was the period when I was program consultant and program presenter at Manila Broadcasting Company-DZRH when we were holding operations at MBC Building in Salcedo Village.
According to records, they purposely entered into a negotiated contract with Buri for the maintenance of the mass transport facilities, knowing very well that it is indeed illegal because the predicate of two failed bids (for a P200 million maintenance contract) is not representative of the base facts for a multi-billion peso contract.
