Veteran journalist questions: is there in-fighting in PDI?

In a recent post in popular social media site Facebook, veteran journalist Bobi Tiglao, pointed out the inconsistencies between the articles in printed version of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, and its online version.

Tiglao first questioned if there are some editors inside Inquirer that wants to sabotage the company, or if there is simply a rift among the editors that led to the inconsistencies.

The inconsistency is that, in the article about the company’s search for the 2017 Filipino of the Year, the printed article listed Pinoy Ako Blog writer Jover Laurio as the winner, while the internet version mentioned the Marawi soldiers as the Filipinos of the Year.

Along with the post, Tiglao also accompanied photo screen shots of the different articles.

Here is his full post:

"Sabotage or RIft, or natauhan after breakfast?

Are there PDI editors sabotaging the Inquirer, or is there a big rift between its print editors and online editors?

The article announcing blogger Jover Laurio has been taken down from its website. What is there is the paper's announcement that it is the fallen soldiers who fought in Marawi who are its Filipinos of the year.

In the print edition, the article says:

"In the search for the 2017 Filipino of the Year, 49 out of a total of 51 editors voted. A plurality of 20 chose Laurio; 17 editors voted for the soldiers and police officers who defended the Islamic City of Marawi." In the internet version."

No mention at all that 20 editors voted for Laurio.

First two images are the print edition frontage and article on Filipinos of the Year (which is not in the internet version. The third is the existing internet article announcing the Marawi soldiers as Filipinos of the year."
