Rappler manipulates news and public opinion - International Lawyer

Paula Defensor-Knack, international lawyer and sister of the late Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago, recently broke down the reasons and sequence of events on how online news platform, Rappler, manipulated the news and shaped public opinion.

In addition to this, Knack also took consideration of politicians who are siding with Rappler on the issue of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) cancelling their license to operate. She says that it highly questions their integrity as lawmakers because the cancellation is rooted in the violation of the Philippine Constitution.

According to Knack, Rappler did the manipulation in sequence.

She said that it first started with the SEC handing out the decision, then news on President Rodrigo Duterte having excellent remarks, then news about multiple international news agencies started commenting on the closure of Rappler and how it was a violation of the freedom of the press. They then released news on Human Rights Watch condemning the president.

"VIRAL !! ...Look at the sequence of events and how they manipulate the news and public opinion -

WHY ARE OUR SENATORS SIDING WITH RAPPLER WHEN THE OPERATIONS OF RAPPLER VIOLATES THE CONSTITUTION AND LAWS WHICH THEY SWORE TO UPHOLD ?! Take note, those who are loud in their defense of Rappler are also the loudest advocates of "Rule of Law" ! WTH !

HOW CAN THEY as LEGISLATORS SIDE WITH RAPPLER ?! Even the National Press Club sides with the SEC on RAPPLER closure.

Jan 11- SEC handed down decision, but copy not served yet.

Jan 12- SWS results released showing PRRD with excellent marks.

Jan 15- Public learns about RAPPLER closure. Immediately, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, MSN.com, Reuters, etc. react immediately in less than a couple of hours (!) that the media firm critical of PRRD was closed in suppression of press freedom. But it took European media firms a lot longer to pick up the Rappler closure. It was announced it the day after, not on the same day. WE CHECKED THIS.

Hontiveros, Poe, Pangilinan condemn closure as suppression of press freedom. Poe calls for a review because closure is suppression of press freedom. WTH ! Sino ba talaga ang amo nila ?

Jan 18- Human Rights Watch condemns Duterte stating that the PH is in "worst crisis". Does this mean that in a matter of a few days, PRRD lost his excellent ratings as stated by SWS because he closed Rappler or are the news agencies and senators working for the same firm as RAPPLER ? YOU JUDGE."
